Very good set of articles
« on: February 21, 2013, 12:02:18 PM »
From the looks of things, nearly all of the 70 plugs we planted to  onion seed have sprouted overnight.  My original intent was to wait a couple weeks before moving them to our semi-heated garage where the temperature hovers around 50 this time of year to finish off.   Once I saw the little buggers however, I began second guessing myself and decided to look around the web to see how others handle them.  In the process, I ran across this site that I really like.  Although the following article deals only with onions, if you go to the top of the page and click on "Grow"  you will find very nice articles on tomatoes, potatoes, you name it.  (I thought the article on growing potatoes in trash bags sounded like something I might try this year.)

Good resource, Paul.  Thanks.

Here are my 'go-to-first' resources for all things related to gardening...

Dave's Garden

GardenWeb

Both are like (ahem) onions...layers and layers of information.  GardenWeb is completely free.  Dave's has some worthy features that are for subscribers only, but there is no fee for most of the site.  I have been visiting there since the site was first available and gladly pay ($20) for full access.

Egg, I do recall that you posted about your "baggy taters" and even put up some pictures.
