Massive earthquake south of here
« on: October 28, 2012, 02:12:55 PM »
Last night there was a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit 100 miles south of us. Tsunami warnings were broadcast. I live on the beach so I started tracking the wave front.
No news for quite awhile.
Then reports of the first wave hitting an island south of us.
It was a gigantic 42 cm high wave.
We chose to not heed the evacuation warnings. So when the first wave hit town 15 mile south of us, I was monitoring the situation.
The 42 cm wave had dropped by 2/3rds before it hit my town. It was a gigantic 6 inches. ;D
So we survived our brush with doom.....this time.

Last night there was yet another 7.7 quake—(déjà vu all over again) only this time it was 125 miles west of here. I didn’t even hear the tsunami warning, but the wave never materialized. Maybe the Mayans were off by a few weeks and the end is near. Or maybe god is telling me it is time to find another place to call ‘home.’

Initial reports had it as two 7.7 earthquakes, but now it has been downgraded to only one 7.5 quake.

Maybe Gaia is angry at all the extra taxes being levied on her vast resources.
I guess we should just rename is as Obama's fault.

(Okay, I can hear the groans all the way up here in Alaska.    ;D )

Obama's Fault, I like that. A perfect addition to his legacy.
