The Gunblogger Rendezvous

Just wondering if any of you folks other than Drang and I are planning on attending the Gunblogger Rendevous this upcoming weekend at the Silver Legacy in Reno?

BTW, Bill, I wanted to make sure you knew not to expect "lunch" any range day.  I plan on picking up at least two flats of water, but if you expect to get hungry between breakfast and dinner, this might be a good chance to try out those life raft rations.  :D

Also, did you see the change to the schedule for Sunday?  Cowboy Action Shooting.  Hey, the gear for that is California legal!  (And the costumes are more expensive than the guns.  Mrs. Drang is all for any shooting activity where she gets to play dress-up.)

Hopefully they'll still be holding these when my kids are old enough to leave at home alone for a few days.

I considered going this year, but I'm in a leadership position in my job for this cycle, so taking pretty much the entire week off struck me as irresponsible.  Besides, maybe by next year, I'll be a blogger so noteworthy that I get an average of five views a day!  :o  ;D

That would probably require serving new free ice cream more often than a couple of times a month, though, so I'm not holding my breath....  ;)
American parachutists...devils in baggy pants...are less than 100 meters from my outpost line. I can't sleep at night; they pop up from nowhere and we never know when or how they will strike next. Seems like the black-hearted devils are everywhere....

I dunno.  LawDog posts about that often, and look how big his blog is.  Or you could do the link post thing like Uncle does.  Or you could present yourself as a hawt blonde or redhead like... Oh, never mind.

Awwww, you guys get to have all the fun. Almost makes me wish I'd taken the first retirement they'd offered me several years ago, but I'll keep workin' as long as I like my job. When I do retire, it ain't all that far to drive the back way to Reno, through Quincy. Guess then I won't have any reasons not to go.
Enjoy!
Used to be anotherone.

Well, my usual routine is to only eat once a day, at dinnertime.   But I'll have the usual flat of water, case of spam, and those individual fruit flavored survival bars JDY likes so much (and so do I!) in my vehicle.

Heck, you guys complaining about work -  I'll be working straight through, writing and blogging.  Which, by the way, will permit me to write off the entire trip - so I'll be saving those receipts! ;D

Note that, not only does it not say you have to be a gun blogger to attend, it specifically says you do NOT have to be a gun blogger to attend!

Well, I just pulled into my undisclosed location in beautiful downtown Reno, a few blocks from the Silver Legacy.  I'm going to unpack, put the bike back together, and head over to the Rendezvous to see what I can see - and to hunt down the con suite.

Con suite--I think you, me, and maybe Barron are the only ones here who know the term--although Kevin might.
And, yes, I am up early.  But not as early as yesterday, after dinner I helped Ray get the Second Amendment Foundation stuff out of my car and hit the hay; it had been a long enough day for me that the room was starting to spin.  (And I only had one beer!)

I didn't see this comment when this thread was active, else I would have added my name to the list of those who know and seek out the con suite - especially for TusCon's Dead Dog Party chili....  ;D
