I think they forgot one:

    * Do you have zero interest in OPSEC?

 ;)

Or it could be that I'm just jealous that I'm not photogenic. :D

circumspect (ˈsɜːkəmˌspɛkt) —adj
cautious, prudent, or discreet

judicious [joo-dish-uhs] –adjective
having, exercising, or characterized by good or discriminating judgment; wise, sensible, or well-advised: a judicious selection of documents.

Those who appear on such shows are neither and so negatively impact the image of preppers.

While I support the concept... anything that gets the public interested in some self sufficiency is good... I'd certainly not want to advertise the stockpiles I have...

I agree. I'll support most anything that shows prepping in a positive light but I think I'll pass on auditioning for the show.

At least one of the families featured on "Doomsday Preppers" is complaining about being made to look like wierdos, not sure whether they're contemplating legal action.  Rawles has posted at least twice that he was not the "anonymous expert" on that show.

I saw / heard something I thought was a good idea on there.

The guy that made burnable pucks out of leaves and paper with water.
Program is not all bad.

I would like to try that

hey JC....we have had quite a discussion about this show on one of the other posts.....and I believe most of us agree on the fact that we wouldn't appear on it ourselves....but I agree with you that there are some cool ideas on it....

On that same episode, I was amazed at the invention with turning the water into a burning flame....and was wondering how they did it...and if it was a hoax or not....although the seed guy they were showing was a little strange....well ....ALOT strange...hahahahah!   at least in my opinion...and not because he was saving seeds either....I just thought he was a little OFF....hahahah....

I'm hoping to find out EXACTLY how to build those pucks.....do you know?  and was that an Alaskan stove he was using?  I would like to put it on the post of "heating my house"

Googing "paper fire bricks" brings up a variety of youtube videos and other instructional material. You basically need a pressing container, shredded paper (with or without other burnables in the mix), and plenty of time and dry conditions in which to dry them.

Seems to me this is a technology best suited to places where scrap paper and sunshine are more readily available than trees (like Arizona or SoCal).
