Request for Info
« on: April 15, 2011, 10:04:55 PM »
I'm looking for suggestions as to the best online sites for military surplus equipment.  I've found some, but they seem geared more to wholesalers looking to buy milsurp for resale.  They don't, for instance, seem to have arrangements for shipping small purchases.

It depends what you want.  And mil-surplus is pretty nebulous - do you want military equipment, used military equipment, military-like equipment?

Generally, there are better examples of stuff to use in the field than what the military issues...stuff that people spend their own money on, for example.

Here's where I get multicam, for example:

Boots, from

Packs from Kifaru

Yes, I'm a physician.  No, I'm not YOUR physician.  Nothing I say here is medical advice.

Do I treat Glocks like I treat my lawn mowers?  No, I treat them worse.  I treat my defensive weapons like my fire extinguishers and smoke detector - annual maintenance and I expect them to work when needed

While technically not surplus (they sell new military and quasi-military gear), here are some chains that cater to the US armed forces:

U.S. Cavalry
Ranger Joe's
Brigade Quartermasters (their retail facilities are actually on-post)
American parachutists...devils in baggy pants...are less than 100 meters from my outpost line. I can't sleep at night; they pop up from nowhere and we never know when or how they will strike next. Seems like the black-hearted devils are everywhere....
