Kifaru Stoves
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:12:02 PM »

Does anybody own a Kifaru stove?

If so, what model, and what are your opinions about it?

Looks like an updated version of the venerable M1950 Yukon Stove, albeit without the liquid fuel capability.

A friend got one.  Extremely well made, well designed, expensive.  If you can find the GI Yukon stove it's functionally equivalent (or better, if you can get the gas burning accessories) and a lot cheaper.

Frankly, flat black is a better color for a stove than polished stainless - it radiates heat better.  I suggested that Kifaru passivate their stoves, but I guess shiny is a marketing ploy.

Yes, I'm a physician.  No, I'm not YOUR physician.  Nothing I say here is medical advice.

Do I treat Glocks like I treat my lawn mowers?  No, I treat them worse.  I treat my defensive weapons like my fire extinguishers and smoke detector - annual maintenance and I expect them to work when needed
